Credits: Photoshop Effects Tutorials Some of the very important aspects of photoshop is its ability to remove objects (humans, tree, animals, etc..) from a given photo, and place them in another one. In this tutorial I will cover this issue and teach you how to do this step by step. First of all, We have this little bear, I chose this image because it doesn’t have alot of complex shapes, so this way you can start learning straght forward. Posted Image ) Open the image in photoshop. From the toolbox, choose the Magnetic Lasso Tool (Hold left click on the Lasso Tool until the list appears). Posted Image 2) Start the selection by clicking anywhere on the bear, and start moving your mouse slowly, you can left click when you need to. Posted Image 3) Keep moving until you reach the point where you started. When you reach that point, click on it, and you will get the selection of the whole bear (see image). Posted Image 4) Now you might notice, there’s still some parts of the bear that aren’t in the selection. To solve the problem, press “q” on your keyboard, the unselected area will then turn to red, then from the toolbox, select your brush tool, and start brushing in black the selections that you need, and to remove a part out of the selection, switch the color to white. Keep doing this until you get a reasonable and smooth selection of your bear. Posted Image 5) Now press “q” again on your keyboard, to switch back to selection mode. And that’s it, we’ve got our bear all selected and can move it to any other scene. Too simply, copy the selection (ctrl + c), and open a new image, and paste it there (ctrl+v). Now to make something special, we will generate several colors of the bear and place several copies in a new scene. 6) From the toolbox, click the Foreground color and choose a lovely one from the color picker Posted Image 7) Go to Image - Adjustment - Hue/Saturation. 8) Click colorize in the dialog box that appears, this will change the bear’s color to what you specified. Posted Image 9) Make sure to create several copies of the bear in several colors, and then import them all to the new image where you want to place your bears. Posted Image Now you have to try it yourself, start with something simple such as the bear, and then move to something more complex, and soon you will be able to do this on any picture you want. |
