Member Posts: 6 Group: Members Member #15,656 Joined: November 15, 2007	Making sigs are not hard; it just takes a bit of concentration, and a bit of effort. There are many types of sigs. In this tutorial I’ll explain how to make a signature using brushes. (This type of signature is one of the easier ones to make) A lot look down to using downloaded brushes, saying it's better to make your own. If you really care about what others think, make your own (Cinema 4D, manipulating photos, etc). Otherwise, flick them off and have fun. What you will need: Photoshop CS2 – Buy it. Or…torrents, keygens..whatever… Brushes – You can get them at Deviant Art: www.deviantart.com (In this tutorial I'll be using Metal-CX's fractal brush set ) Open up Photoshop, press Ctrl + N (or go to File > New.. ). I'm making this sig 400x120, but you can change that if you want. Posted Image Alright, we've got a blank form. Let's expand it out a bit, because small spaces s_ck. Press F, so that it fills up the whole screen (bar your taskbar). Now let's start this off, get to your toolbar. You see that black/white box thing? That's the gradient tool. We're not using that, so let's turn it into the paintbucket tool. Click and the small triangle in the bottom right corner, and select the paintbucket. Posted Image Now use the paintbucket. Click on the paintbucket, press D (to reset your colors), and fill in the background. Posted Image And now, lets make a new layer Posted Image Let's start brushing then. Switch the colors to white, look up and click on the brush icon. Look in the next picture, use your brain, and click on the icon in red. Then go to Replace Brushes, and load the brushes from Metal-CX. You should get Posted Image And now select any of the brushes, and click, then change, then click. If it's not bright enough, press Ctrl + J to copy Posted Image Looks ok? Nothing great, so let's add some color. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance. Press Ok to the wind*w that comes up, and adjust the color you want. I'm making it blue because I can. Posted Image There we go. Still looks a bit bland, hmm? Let's add some depth to it. Go back to layer > new Adjustment Layer > Brightness / Contrast. Now change appropriately, whatever looks good. I'm making it 25 - 25. Posted Image Still looks a bit bland? Make a new layer, go to Image > Apply Image, press ok. (pic 10) Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur > and set it to 4. Then press ok. Then set the new blurred layer to overlay. Posted Image Posted Image Now you're done. Pretty nice eh? Just need to add some text/render... which i won't get into in this tutorial. Later when you are more experience, you can start using C4Ds and try out new things. Oh yea..btw. this tutorial works with 7/CS too. Its just that some brush sets aren't PS7/CS compatible, if I remember correctly I think that Metal-CX's needs CS2. sorry for my bad english. EVO-tasz
